Stock Market News - Sebi sets rules for start-ups on IGP to migrate to main platform

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Monday came out with a discussion paper highlighting proposals for allowing a start-up listed on the Innovators Growth Platform (IGP) to trade under the regular category of the main board. According to the proposals, the company should have listed on the IGP for a year and have a minimum of 200 shareholders for making the shift. The company, or any of its promoters, promoter group or directors, should not have been debarred from accessing the capital market or been a willful defaulter. Minimum promoters’ contribution should be 20 per cent of the total capital. In case of a shortfall, alternative investment funds, foreign venture capital investors, scheduled commercial banks, public financial institutions or insurance companies can step in, subject to a maximum of 10 per cent of the total capital. Tata Motors falls - shares are trading 3.6% lower at Rs 202, while Yes Bank shares are down nearly 3% to emerge among the biggest Sensex gainers.  HDFC Bank, SBI, Maruti Suzuki, RIL, Titan, Yes Bank, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Tata Motors, Hindalco, Infosys, Indiabulls Housing, HUL  are among major losers on the indices, on the other hand, gainers are BPCL, Power Grid, Asian Paints and Eicher Motors. Siemens At Over 13-Month High -  Shares of Siemens extended gains for the third consecutive trading session and rose as much as 1.15 per cent to Rs 1,179, the heist level since Feb. 27, 2018. Wockhardt Gains -   On FDA Boost Shares of Wockhardt rose as much as 3.5 per cent to Rs 457.80, the highest in over two months. The company received U.S. FDA approval for generic version of Dacogen, which is used to treat certain forms of cancer. HDFC Bank Falls -  On Possible Block Deal Shares of the Mumbai-based lender fell as much as 1.7 per cent, the most in nearly two months, to Rs 2,249. An undisclosed entity is likely to sell 1.1 crore shares or 0.42 per cent equity in the stock via block deal at a range of Rs 2,219-2,287 per share, implying a 3 per cent discount from the last regular trade, bankers involved in the deal. HCL surges 4% - HCL Technologies shares rose 4 per cent to Rs 1,081 on the BSE in early morning trade. HCL Technologies was up 3 per cent at Rs 1,073 and was the top gainer among S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 index.  Tata Motors Falls - After S&P Rating Downgrade Shares of the Jaguar Land Rover-parent declined for the second trading session after falling as much as 1.4 per cent to a one-month low of Rs 167 per share. Sun Pharma, Tata Motors among top losers  - Sun Pharma shares are trading 2% lower at Rs 463.50, while Tata Motors Declines For The Third Straight Session Shares of the carmaker declined as much as 2.2 per cent to Rs 171.60, its lowest in over a month.  Tata Motors is said to increase prices of its passenger vehicles from April 2019 by up to Rs 25000. Share market LIVE updates: The domestic stock market–Sensex and Nifty–opened lower tracking weak global cues, after S&P 500 closed at a 14-month low on concerns about slowing economic growth. The 30-share Sensex slumped 213 points in the opening trade to 36,047.49, while the broader Nifty 50 was trading firmly below 10,850-level.  Tata Motors share price gained by more than 2% to hit the day’s high at Rs 177.60. Notably, the firm’s subsidiary JLR has reportedly hired Boston Consulting Group for its $3.2 billion turnaround plan. Earlier, the SGX Nifty was trading 38 points lower indicating a negative start for Sensex and Nifty.
