Stock market News - Bloodbath on D-St as Nifty below 11,300, Sensex plunges 1,100 pts

All the sectoral indices slipped between 1 to 3 percent. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices down over 2 percent each. Market Opens :   Indian indices continue to remain under pressure for the sixth consecutive day on February 28 with Nifty slipped below 11,400 on the back worries over outbreak of Coronavirus. At 09:17 hrs IST, the Sensex is down 1,071.62 points or 2.70% at 38674.04, and the Nifty down 319.80 points or 2.75% at 11313.50. About 110 shares have advanced, 873 shares declined, and 31 shares are unchanged.  Top losers are Tata Motors, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, Yes Bank, Gail and M&M. Rupee Opens : The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade on Friday. Stocks to watch - Sun Pharma, ITC Top Performers, Nifty above 10,850

Sun Pharma shares gained by more than 4.2% to hit Rs 455 in the early trade, after the margin adjusted for gains came in at 23.7% as compared to 21.84% on-year.hares of the country’s largest pharmaceutical company extended gains for the second day and rose as much as 4.2 per cent to Rs 455. The stock was the best performer on Sensex and Nifty. The drugmaker’s quarterly profit beat estimates on a higher margin, providing relief to India’s largest drugmaker as it grapples with corporate governance concerns. Market Update- Sensex, Nifty open lower,Tata Motors declines 4%,Dr Reddy's down 3%

Market opens-  Equity benchmarks have opened marginally lower, with the Nifty trading around 10,900. The Sensex is down 53.26 points or 0.15% at 36493.22, while the Nifty is down 36.90 points or 0.34% at 10906.70. The market breadth is narrow as 211 shares advanced, against a decline of 169 shares, while 62 shares were unchanged.  Selling is visible across sectors, with maximum pain seen in automobiles and pharmaceuticals, among others. The Nifty Midcap index is down around 0.20 per cent. Bharti Airtel, Yes Bank, Tata Steel and Titan are the top gainers, while M&M, Power Grid, Dr Reddy’s and Tata Motors lost the most.  Dr Reddy's falls -  Shares of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories fell 4 per cent on Monday morning as investors reacted to observations being issued to the company by the US FDA. Axis Bank profit jumps 131% to Rs 1,681 crore

MUMBAI: Axis Bank on Tuesday announced that it has posted the strongest profit numbers in 11 quarters with an all-around improvement in its key business metrics and asset quality. The bank’s net profit for the third quarter (October-December) more than doubled to Rs 1,681 crore year-on-year, and operating profit grew 43 per cent to hit Rs 5,525 crore. During the quarter, the bank’s domestic loans grew at 18 per cent on the year, and total deposits by 26 per cent. Axis Bank Q3: Profit surges to Rs 1,680.8 crore versus Rs 726 crore; NII rises 18.4 per cent to Rs 5,603.6 crore versus Rs 4731.5 crore YoY. Gross NPA improves to 5.75 per cent versus 5.94 per cent and net NPA to Rs 2.36 per cent versus 2.54 per cent QoQ. HCL Technologies Q3: Profit rises 2.8 percent to Rs 2,611 crore versus Rs 2,540 crore; revenue jumps 5.6 percent to Rs 15,699 crore versus Rs 14,861 crore QoQ.
