Stock Market News - SRF Jumps, Indiabulls Group Gains, Tata Motors rises

SRF Jumps The Most In Nearly Three Months -  Shares of SRF rose as much as 7.9 percent, the most since May 15, to Rs 2,783 after the company announced its June quarter results.

Indiabulls Group Stocks Advance -  Shares of Indiabulls Housing Finance rose ahead of results announcement. Meanwhile, shares of Indiabulls Ventures and Indiabulls Real Estate advanced 4-5 percent to Rs 207 and Rs 84.55 respectively.

Rupee Opens: The Indian rupee opened lower by 7 paise at 70.80 per dollar on Tuesday versus previous close 70.73.

F&O Check: Nifty 11,000 Call Option Jumps 36% Nifty’s 11,000 call option contract was among the most active Nifty option contracts on National Stock Exchange. The premium on the weekly contract which is set to expire on Thursday fell 36.62 percent to Rs 50.55. Over 5.83 lakh shares were added to the open interest which stood at over 28.17 lakh shares.

IndiGo Falls  - After Co-Founder Puts Out New Letter Shares of the budget carrier fell as much as 2.6 percent to Rs 1,452. The company’s co-founder Rakesh Gangwal, will not vote to change the company’s articles of association at an annual general meeting scheduled for Aug. 27, according to his letter to the board.

Sterling & Wilson Solar's Rs 3,125-Crore IPO Opens Sterling & Wilson Solar Ltd. will launch its three-day initial public offering on Tuesday as the chairman and promoter plan to pare their holdings in the Shapoorji Pallonji Group’s solar engineering, procurement, and construction company. The Sterling & Wilson Solar plans to raise close to Rs 3,125 crore by selling four crore equity shares at Rs 7.

Granules India gets USFDA nod for Amphetamine Sulfate tablets: The US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved the abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) filed by Granules Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of Granules India for Amphetamine Sulfate Tablets USP 5 mg and 10 mg.

Zee Entertainment, Yes Bank, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Titan, HUL, RIL, are among major losers on the indices in the early trade, while gainers are SRF, Tech Mahindra, Eicher Motors, IndusInd Bank, Berger Paints Axis Bank, and Bajaj Finance. Among sectors, except FMCG other indices are trading with marginal gains led by the PSU bank, auto, infra, metal, IT and energy.

Telcos to lose Rs 4-5 crore a day as internet services suspended in Kashmir - Telecom operators’ business worth Rs 4-5 crore would be affected a day, like internet, mobile, landline, and cable TV services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir.

As on December 31, 2018, the number of telecom subscribers in Jammu & Kashmir was 11.5 million. The service area saw a net addition of 51,000 subscribers in December, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (Trai’s) data shows. The data showed only Jio was able to add subscribers in Jammu & Kashmir in December when Airtel had 5.64 million subscribers, Jio had 3.31 million, Vodafone-Idea 1.34 million and BSNL 1.21 million, the report said.

Fund Raising - PNB Housing Finance raised fresh $75 million (around Rs 522 crore) ECB from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Singapore.

Stock Market News - Yellow metal hits fresh record high as Iran attacks US forces

On the MCX, gold contracts for February were trading higher by Rs 562, or 1.38 percent, at Rs 41,225 per 10 gram at 0920 hours. It hit a record high of 42,278 per 10 gm. India Gold February futures hit a fresh record high on January 8 tracking gains in international spot prices which surged past $1,600 an ounce mark after Iran fired rockets at Iraqi airbase which hosts US forces that triggered risk-off sentiment. Spot prices hit their highest since March 2013 at $1,610.90 earlier in the session. US gold futures rose 2 percent to $1,605.80. “The jump in the price of what’s viewed by investors as a safer asset in times of political and economic uncertainty came after Iran’s missile attack on US-led forces in Iraq early on Wednesday,” said a Reuters report. “The attack came hours after the funeral of an Iranian commander whose killing in a US drone strike has raised fears of a wider conflict in the Middle-East,” it said.
