LIC Housing Finance Falls The Most In Nearly A Year - Shares of the non-banking lender declined as much as 7.6 percent, its biggest intraday slide since September last year. to Rs 428.35 each. Around 6.7 percent or 3.4 crore shares changed hands in seven block deals, according to Bloomberg data. 


Buyers and sellers were not known immediately. Bloomberg earlier reported an undisclosed institutional shareholder of the company has sought to raise between $200-211 million through an offering of about 3.37 crore shares, according to terms for the deal obtained by Bloomberg. The offering will be at priced between Rs 425.15-449.50 per share, the report added.

Yes Bank, ITC top gainers - Yes Bank, ITC were among the biggest gainers, jumping up to 2%. Tata Steel, HCL Tech were among the biggest losers, shedding up to 1.7%.

TOP GAINERS & LOSERS -  Yes Bank, Britannia, Dr. Reddy's, ITC, Sun Pharma and M&M are some of the gainers in the early trade on the Indices, while losers include LIC Housing, Indiabulls Housing, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Vedanta, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, and ICICI Bank. Among sectors, except pharma and FMCG other indices are trading lower led by the metal, auto, energy, infra and IT.

L&T Rises After Winning Aramco Order - Shares of the infrastructure developer snapped its two-day fall and rose 1.3 percent to Rs 1,327.45 each. The company said a consortium including L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering bagged a ‘Large’ Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation order from Saudi Aramco, in an exchange filing. L&T classifies contracts worth Rs 2,500-5,000 crore as ‘Large’.

DLF Slumps Nearly 20% - Shares of the property developer plunged as much as 19.4 percent to Rs 138.30 each, its lowest price in over two years. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the company based on a petition that highlighted how DLF had suppressed key information from shareholders, according to a Businessline report. 

Oberoi Realty falls nearly 5%: Shares of Oberoi Realty declined nearly 5 percent in the early trade on August 22 after the company gave confirmation about search operation by Income Tax authorities at company's premises.

Stock Market News - Yellow metal hits fresh record high as Iran attacks US forces

On the MCX, gold contracts for February were trading higher by Rs 562, or 1.38 percent, at Rs 41,225 per 10 gram at 0920 hours. It hit a record high of 42,278 per 10 gm. India Gold February futures hit a fresh record high on January 8 tracking gains in international spot prices which surged past $1,600 an ounce mark after Iran fired rockets at Iraqi airbase which hosts US forces that triggered risk-off sentiment. Spot prices hit their highest since March 2013 at $1,610.90 earlier in the session. Share market LIVE: The benchmark equity indices – Sensex and Nifty – opened on a lower note Wednesday even as the domestic markets rallied yesterday. The S&P BSE Sensex Index declined 0.6% intraday to 36,035.78 and the NSE Nifty 50 Index fell 0.38 percent to trade near 10,850.
