Market News - TCS, Infosys Up; SpiceJet Extends Gain; Ruchi Soya Jumps

TCS, Infosys Up - TCS shares are trading 1% higher at Rs 2,035.30, The company consolidated profit during the fourth quarter is expected to decline 1.5 per cent on a sequential basis to Rs 7,981 crore
IOC, TCS, Infosys, ONGC, HPCL, BPCL, Tata Steel, RIL, Wipro, Power Grid, Cipla, Bajaj Finance are among major gainers, while losers are HCL Tech, Tata Motors, HDFC, Dr Reddy's Lab, Adani Ports and Yes Bank. All the sectoral indices are trading in green. Midcap and smallcap indices are trading with marginal gains.

Rupee Opens: The Indian rupee opened lower by 12 paise at 69.04 per dollar on Friday versus previous close 68.92.

SpiceJet Extends Gain, Jumps Over 9%-  Shares of SpiceJet extended gains for the second consecutive trading session and rose as much as 9.4 per cent to Rs 110.80. The stock advanced nearly 10 per cent in yesterday’s trade, its biggest jump since March 20. 

Vakrangee At Eight-Month High -  Shares of Vakrangee rose as much as 7.7 per cent to Rs 71, its highest level since August 2018. The trading volume was more than 17 times its 20-day average for this time of the day.

Ruchi Soya Jumps  - After Block Deal Shares of Ruchi Soya rose as much as 9.4 per cent to Rs 7.6. About 50 lakh shares or 1.5 per cent equity changed hands in a single block deal, Buyers and sellers were not known immediately.

Stock Market News - FDC share price at 52-week high on GMP certificate from UK health regulator

The certificate came after a recent inspection of the company's facilities in Goa. FDC  share price touched a 52-week high of Rs 222, rising more than 5 percent in the morning trade on January 3 after the company received the good manufacturing practice (GMP) certificate from the UK's health regulator. The UK's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency also continued with its approved status for the company's two facilities in Verna, Goa. Budget 2018 was the last full-fledged budget presented by the government led by Narendra Modi.
