Bharti Infratel Top Loser On Nifty - Shares of the telecom tower operator declined as much as 4.7 per cent to over a two month low of Rs 287.35 apiece. The company reported its March quarter results on Wednesday. Brokerage firm CLSA downgraded its recommendation on the stock to ‘Sell’ from ‘Outperform’. 
Titan Company Hits All-Time High - Titan Company hit a record high and crossed Rs 1 lakh crore in market cap.

Rupee Opening - The Indian rupee has opened marginally lower at 70 a dollar, against the closing of 69.87 in the previous session.

Crude Update - Oil prices fell on Thursday as record US output and rising crude stockpiles dampened the impact on markets of tighter US sanctions on Iran and producer club OPEC’s continued curbs on supply.

Yes, Bank, Axis Bank shares up - Yes, Bank shares are trading 1.5% higher at Rs 242.80, while Powergrid shares are up 1.3% to 194.40. Private sector lender Axis Bank shares are trading slightly higher at Rs 755.60, ahead of Q4 results. 

UltraTech Extends Gains - Near 15-Month High Shares of the cement, maker rose 2.6 per cent intraday to 4,510 apiece, its highest since Jan 2018. The company reported its fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday. 

Oriental Hotels Shares Gain - Shares of Oriental Hotels added more than 2 per cent intraday after the hotelier announced plans to raise funds via Non-Convertible Debentures or other debt securities on a private placement basis for FY20.

Sugar stocks gain - Uttar Sugar Mills up over 8%, Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries up 6.81% (BSE quotes)

Ipca Labs up nearly 2% - Drug firm, on April 24, said it has entered into a pact to buy Maharashtra-based Ramdev Chemical for Rs 108.5 crore.

Syngene International up over 2% - In results announced yesterday for Q4FY19, net profit grew 18.1 per cent YoY to Rs 99.8 crore while revenues grew 30.5 per cent YoY to Rs 533.9 crore.

Stock Market News - Yellow metal hits fresh record high as Iran attacks US forces

On the MCX, gold contracts for February were trading higher by Rs 562, or 1.38 percent, at Rs 41,225 per 10 gram at 0920 hours. It hit a record high of 42,278 per 10 gm. India Gold February futures hit a fresh record high on January 8 tracking gains in international spot prices which surged past $1,600 an ounce mark after Iran fired rockets at Iraqi airbase which hosts US forces that triggered risk-off sentiment. Spot prices hit their highest since March 2013 at $1,610.90 earlier in the session. US gold futures rose 2 percent to $1,605.80. “The jump in the price of what’s viewed by investors as a safer asset in times of political and economic uncertainty came after Iran’s missile attack on US-led forces in Iraq early on Wednesday,” said a Reuters report. “The attack came hours after the funeral of an Iranian commander whose killing in a US drone strike has raised fears of a wider conflict in the Middle-East,” it said.
