Top Stocks: Jet Airways falls 5%, Infosys Top Gainers, Bharti Airtel in focus, Buy Axis Bank, sell Indigo

JET AIRWAYS FALLS 5%- JET AIRWAYS share price is down 3.9% to Rs 216.2 on the BSE. On the NSE, the JET AIRWAYS share price is down 3.9% to Rs 215.7. The total volume of shares traded is 3.3 m. 



Overall, the benchmark S&P BSE SENSEX is trading at 36,041.1 (up 0.4%).Over the last 30 days, the JET AIRWAYS share price is down 11.9%. And over the last one year, JET AIRWAYS share price is down 70.9%.

Market Opens: It is a strong start for the indices on Thursday with Nifty trading around 10,850 level. At 09:18 hrs IST, the Sensex is up 139.66 points at 36045.09, while Nifty is up 40.90 points at 10847.60. About 525 shares have advanced, 138 shares declined, and 33 shares are unchanged. 

Bharti Airtel in Focus- BHARTI AIRTEL share price is up 0.9% to Rs 322.9 on the BSE. On the NSE, the BHARTI AIRTEL share price is up 0.9% to Rs 323.2. The total volume of shares traded is 1.0 m. Overall, the broader S&P BSE TECK Index is trading up by 0.3%. And the benchmark S&P BSE SENSEX is at 35,989.4 (up 0.2%). Over the last 30 days, the BHARTI AIRTEL share price is up 5.9%. And over the last one year, BHARTI AIRTEL share price is down 25.1%.

Buy Axis Bank- CMP: Rs 718.20 - Axis continues to be in a strong bullish trend as price reclaimed the position above its 20-DEMA. The occurrence of a “Bullish Belt Hold” candle line on February 26, followed by a gap up opening reaffirms the underlying strength. Traders should continue to build longs with a stop below Rs 693 “Belt Hold” lows for an immediate move towards Rs 740, followed by Rs 756.

Sell Indigo- Indigo's stock is moving lower after an unsuccessful attempt to breach previous highs attained on December 28, 2018, in turn forming “Double Top” around Rs 1,200 levels. Traders should initiate shorts at current levels for the rest of Rs 1,050 support to be obtained with the stop placed above Rs 1,155 levels.

Rupee Opens: The Indian rupee opened lower at 71.26 per dollar on Thursday versus Wednesday's close 71.22.

Stock Market News - Yellow metal hits fresh record high as Iran attacks US forces

On the MCX, gold contracts for February were trading higher by Rs 562, or 1.38 percent, at Rs 41,225 per 10 gram at 0920 hours. It hit a record high of 42,278 per 10 gm. India Gold February futures hit a fresh record high on January 8 tracking gains in international spot prices which surged past $1,600 an ounce mark after Iran fired rockets at Iraqi airbase which hosts US forces that triggered risk-off sentiment. Spot prices hit their highest since March 2013 at $1,610.90 earlier in the session. US gold futures rose 2 percent to $1,605.80. “The jump in the price of what’s viewed by investors as a safer asset in times of political and economic uncertainty came after Iran’s missile attack on US-led forces in Iraq early on Wednesday,” said a Reuters report. “The attack came hours after the funeral of an Iranian commander whose killing in a US drone strike has raised fears of a wider conflict in the Middle-East,” it said.
